Trip Itinerary
More information regarding the time and meeting point for the first/last day will be provided after the booking.
The journey begins in San Salvatore di Sinis, a timeless village in the Cabras area, known as Sardinia’s famous “western village.” Here, among adobe houses and dusty streets, Sergio Leone filmed scenes of the legendary A Fistful of Dollars, transforming the village into a true cinematic setting. Upon arrival, you will meet the guide for an introductory briefing and presentation of the tour itinerary. The rest of the day is free to explore the village by bike, immersing yourself in the unique atmosphere where reality and cinema blend seamlessly. Dinner and overnight stay.
Today’s ride takes you through the Sulcis-Iglesiente region, a land that tells the epic story of Sardinia’s mining past. Among abandoned mines and dramatic landscapes, you can sense the atmospheres of films by Salvatore Mereu, such as Sonetaula and Ballo a tre passi, which capture the island’s most profound and ancestral soul. The route then continues to the Sinis Peninsula, a protected marine area, where you can admire colonies of pink flamingos and reach the stunning quartz beach of Is Arutas, framed by the evocative Phoenician ruins of Tharros. The rest of the day is free to relax or explore the surrounding area at your own pace. Dinner and overnight stay.
Today’s ride takes you into one of Sardinia’s most iconic landscapes, where nature becomes monumental: the Piscinas Dunes. Known as the “Sardinian desert,” this vast golden beach has drawn filmmakers for its primordial, timeless beauty. Cycling among the dunes, you follow in the footsteps of cinematic masterpieces such as The Black Stallion (1979) by Francis Ford Coppola and Carroll Ballard, where legendary horse-riding sequences turned Piscinas into a global symbol of untamed adventure. More recently, this natural amphitheatre hosted the music video for Due vite by Marco Mengoni, winner of Sanremo 2023. Continuing along the Costa Verde, be captivated by the dramatic contrasts between the ochre dunes and the deep blue sea, a natural set that amazes at every turn. Arrival at the hotel, with the rest of the day free to enjoy the surrounding area. Dinner and overnight stay.
Today we venture into the heart of the Sulcis-Iglesiente region, where history and cinema meet in an open-air set. You will cycle through abandoned mining villages frozen in time, where industrial archaeology blends with nature slowly reclaiming its space. We will pass the ghost towns of Ingurtosu, Montevecchio, Acquaresi, and Sedda Moddizzis: with their imposing structures and rusted railways, these locations have often been chosen by filmmakers to evoke dramatic, epic, or dreamlike atmospheres. The magnetic charm of these lands has been captured by Daniele Atzeni in documentary films such as Racconti dal sottosuolo (2002) and Il suono della miniera (2011), transforming miners’ memories into visual poetry. Continuing along the route, after admiring the golden sands of Portixeddu and the long white coastline overlooking the emerald-clear sea, we reach the old Nebida washing plant, a former mining village dominated by Pan di Zucchero, a 133-meter-high limestone islet declared a natural monument. Along the way, the valley’s silence accompanies us, broken only by the wind whistling through the old mines, making us feel part of a cinematic story from another era. Arrival at the hotel, with the rest of the day free to explore or relax. Dinner and overnight stay.
Cycling through emerald waters, we head towards the Island of San Pietro and the nearby Sant’Antioco, where landscapes and cinema merge into a single unforgettable experience. In Carloforte, the Tabarchino village, and along the cliffs of Punta Nera, you’ll feel like the star of the popular TV series L’Isola di Pietro, imagining Gianni Morandi running along the beaches of Girin or through the narrow streets of the historic center. After a scenic descent to Fontanamare, we reach Portoscuso to board the ferry to Carloforte, renowned for its red tuna fishing. Continuing to the island of Sant’Antioco, we conclude the day surrounded by breathtaking seascapes and authentic island atmospheres. Arrival at the hotel, with the rest of the day free to explore or relax. Dinner and overnight stay.
Today we cycle through the meadows of Sant’Antioco, green in spring and golden in summer, traversing landscapes of rare beauty. The ride takes us to the medieval village of Tratalias, where the Pisan-style sanctuary stands as one of the most significant examples of Sardinian Romanesque architecture. Along the shores of Lake Monte Pranu, we soak in the calm of the rolling Sulcis countryside, a location chosen by Milanese Imbruttito for the comedy Mollo tutto e apro un Chiringuito, adding a touch of contemporary humor to a land steeped in history. A perfect contrast between ancient traditions and modern atmospheres makes this day truly unique. The rest of the day is free to explore or relax. Dinner and overnight stay.
The tour concludes with a crescendo of beauty along the South Coast, through Teulada, Domus de Maria, and Chia. We will cycle along panoramic roads overlooking Capo Malfatano and Tuerredda Beach, recently featured by director Riccardo Milani in the film La vita va così (2025), inspired by the touching story of Ovidio Marras. The grand finale takes us past white sandy beaches, dramatic cliffs, and lush nature: Capo Malfatano with its 16th-century tower, Tuerredda Beach, and Capo Spartivento. Along the route, we will have the opportunity to visit the archaeological site of Nora, admiring the remains of the ancient Phoenician settlement. Arrival in Pula, with the rest of the day free to explore or relax. Dinner and overnight stay.
