To eliminate daily transit and enjoy the mountains to the fullest, the ideal high-altitude base is Passolanciano-Majelletta (approx. 1,300–1,650 m). Staying in historic lodges or nearby mountain refuges allows you to step out every morning with your boots or skis directly on.
