- 08:30 AM | Meeting Point & Saffron Field Visit: Welcome and briefing in San Pio delle Camere, followed by transfer to the saffron fields. Observe the traditional hand-harvesting of delicate PDO saffron flowers and discover the production secrets of Abruzzo's "red gold."
- 09:30 AM | Mountain Bike Tour Departure: Start of the guided loop trail (25 km). Ride across the high plateau, passing through the charming stone villages of Tussio and Prata d’Ansidonia.
- 11:00 AM | Historical Stop at Ansidonia & Peltuinum: Explore the fortified medieval hamlet of Castel Camponeschi and the ancient Roman archaeological ruins of Peltuinum, perched on a scenic plateau overlooking the valley.
- 01:00 PM | Return & Festive Square Lunch: Finish the ride in the main square of San Pio delle Camere for a festive community lunch. Enjoy a multi-course saffron-infused meal (appetizer, first course, main course, side dish, dessert, wine, and water) featuring live music and village celebration.

Spend an unforgettable day in the heart of Abruzzo, between the Navelli Plain and Gran Sasso National Park, discovering the secrets of San Pio delle Camere saffron — one of the finest spices in the world.
During this guided bike tour, you will enjoy a dynamic itinerary combining saffron heritage with a ride through historic villages, castles, and archaeological sites. The morning begins with a stop at the fields to observe the harvesting of delicate crocus blossoms. Shortly after, hop on your bike for a 25 km loop (+400 m elevation gain) through stunning countryside, visiting the stone hamlets of Tussio and Prata d’Ansidonia, medieval Castel Camponeschi, and the Vestini archaeological area of Peltuinum.
After the ride, gather in the main square at 1:00 PM for a festive lunch featuring a complete saffron-inspired menu (appetizer, first course, main course, side dish, dessert, and water/wine), surrounded by live music and traditional village celebration.
