The meeting point is scheduled for 9:45 at the Church of Madonna del Casale, where our snowshoeing adventure across the Cinquemiglia Plateau will begin. We will start from the church, following a dirt track heading west, passing through a small snow-covered woodland. From the very first steps, the view opens up over the plateau and surrounding peaks, creating a unique winter atmosphere. The first stop will be at a panoramic clearing, offering views of Monte Greco, the Chiarano Valley, and Serra del Chiarano. After a short break to enjoy the scenery, we will continue along the trail towards Bosco Paradiso, an enchanting beech forest that envelops hikers in the silence and magic of the snowy landscape. Along the way, we will pass through several historic clearings and shepherds’ huts, remnants of the local mountain pastoral tradition. The trail alternates between open areas with sweeping views of the plateau and passages through the forest, providing picturesque spots and moments of full immersion in nature. The return will close the loop, bringing us back to the Church of Madonna del Casale, completing an immersive snowshoeing experience in the peaceful and vibrant winter landscapes of Abruzzo.
